USING MONTY SOUNDS
From your first listen to accounts, apps, syncing, offline listening and Radio.
Where do I start?
Listen at listen.montysounds.com. You can explore and listen without creating an account. Monty Sounds Radio is also free and does not require an account. If you want to install Monty Sounds, go to Monty Sounds Select and choose your platform.
Local Mode or free account?
| Feature | Local Mode (no account) | Account Mode |
|---|---|---|
| Browse/listen to catalogue | Yes | Yes |
| Monty Sounds Radio | Yes | Yes |
| Playlists | Temporary/local | Stored with your account |
| Sync supported devices | No | Yes |
| Offline listening | No | Yes, for selected tracks inside Monty Sounds |

Local and account playlists are separate. Creating an account does not automatically import a Local Mode playlist.
Create and sign in to an account
- Choose Create Account from Monty Sounds.
- Choose a username (3–30 letters, numbers or underscores), enter your email and password, then complete email verification when requested.
- Sign in with your username or email address.
- After sign-in, Monty Sounds shows Account Mode and your account features become available.
Your account is free. Two-factor authentication (2FA) is optional, not required when you create the account.
Account Settings
Settings brings the main account controls together. You can manage your display name, change email or password, sign out the current device, choose EN/PL, manage playlists, offline selections, security, recent activity, devices and privacy.
Language
EN/PL changes the Monty Sounds website, Settings and account interface. Track titles stay exactly as released.
Playlists & Sync
In Account Mode, playlists are stored with your account and can sync to supported devices. You can create, rename and delete playlists. Use the sync controls on supported devices when you need to refresh account data.
Offline Listening
Select tracks for offline playback inside Monty Sounds. Audio files are not offered as ordinary downloadable music files. Offline listening is an account feature. Signing out can clear playable cached audio from that device; your account's offline selection can be used again after signing back in and rehydrating the device.
Devices, pairing and sessions
Supported Monty Sounds apps can be linked to your account. If an app shows a QR code or pairing code, open Account/Settings in a signed-in browser, go to Devices, scan the QR code where supported or enter the pairing code, then choose Approve device.
You can rename or remove linked devices. Security controls also let you sign out other sessions or sign out all devices. Recent Account Activity shows the five most recent security/account changes, such as a device being linked, renamed or revoked.
Security & 2FA
2FA is optional. If enabled, it protects sign-in on supported devices. To enable or add an authenticator, open Monty Sounds Settings on a desktop computer. Existing 2FA continues to protect sign-in on other supported devices. Authenticator entries can be reviewed/removed from the security area.
Privacy & Data
You can export your personal Monty Sounds account data or permanently delete the account from Settings. Account-data exports do not include music/audio files.
Monty Sounds Radio
Radio remains free and does not require an account. You can open the Radio experience from Monty Sounds. When moving between Sounds and Radio, playback is coordinated so you do not need two competing players: the existing Sounds mini-player can remain until Radio is started, and starting a Sounds track takes over from Radio.
Install Monty Sounds
Use Monty Sounds Select to choose Web App, Android Phone or Google TV. Monty Help then explains the installation steps, including Android's Install unknown apps permission and Google TV installation using ADB/CMD.
Installation helpMonty Sounds Select
Select is the simple starting point for choosing how you want to use Monty Sounds. Choose your platform there; for technical installation instructions, return to Monty Help. This keeps current app/download choices in one place while Help concentrates on explaining the process.
Common problems
I cannot use Save Offline
Offline listening requires Account Mode. Sign in first, then manage your offline tracks.
My playlist is missing on another device
Make sure both devices are signed into the same account, then use the available sync control. Local Mode playlists do not transfer into Account Mode.
I cannot pair a device
Generate/open the pairing screen in the app, enter its current pairing code in Account/Settings → Devices (or scan the QR code where supported), and approve it. If the code has expired, generate a new one.
I cannot manage 2FA on my phone
Open Monty Sounds Settings on a desktop computer to enable or add an authenticator.
